This Week's Artist: Jon Troast
He’s tall. He wears red shoes. But his biggest trademark is his accessible brand of folk-pop. His following is growing thanks in large part to his unique touring strategy – playing to intimate crowds in living rooms for $100, a meal, & a couch to sleep on. In fact, to pay homage, his latest CD is called “Living Room.”
Jon doesn’t try to categorize his music. As he told me, “To me, everyday life is a gift from God and writing a song about something you went through – a breakup, falling in love – that’s all something that God works in…. Thankfully I can write with a piece as far as knowing that God’s got it all under his hand.”
UTR Episode #12 had Jon as our special guest.
